No injuries were reported as Danville Firefighters battled a blaze that heavily damaged a home overnight. Firefighters responded to the vacant two-story structure at 109 Nicklas Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday (September 11, 2019) and were on the scene until nearly 3 o’clock this morning.
There were flames coming from the windows of the home when firefighters arrived on the scene. Some neighbors, though, told firefighters there were possibly two homeless people inside so a search was conducted but nobody was found.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. One neighbor told our News Department that there have been several fires in that area in recent months. One of the earlier fires destroyed the garage located behind the home that burned last night.
