The City of Danville would like to announce that Norfolk Southern Railroad has informed they will have complete closures at the roadway crossings for construction
maintenance of their tracks. Beginning Thursday, October 20, 2022 a number of street crossings along the Norfolk Southern Railroad will be closed to traffic while the
crossings are having upgraded rail maintenance.
The following street crossings impacted by the these closures are:
Voorhees Street
Pries Street
Bowman Avenue
Martin Street
Williams Street
Van Buren Street
Main Street Route 136
South Street
3rd Street
The work may extend across several of the crossings at one time and each is anticipated to last up to 2 days. Motorists should use caution around the work zone and choose an
alternate route. Detour signage will be in place during the closures.
