It’s happening once again this weekend, as the Rock N Roll McDonald’s at Vermilion and Liberty will be hosting the Sheriff Showcase. From 10 AM to 2 PM Saturday, stop by the McDonalds and the surrounding parking lot to meet Vermilion County Sheriff Department personnel; and see their vehicles and equipment up close. Sheriff Pat Hartshorn says it’s for kids, as well as entire families.
AUDIO: You know, climb in and out of the prisoner vans and the SWAT truck. And we’re going to set up a course for people to drive a golf cart through some traffic cones, using DUI goggles, so they can get an idea what it’s like to drive impaired. We will have our K-9s there for the kids to see. We’re going to give a demonstration, and they can get their picture taken with the K-9 officers.
There will also be Sheriff Department drone flight demonstrations during the Sheriff Showcase; again 10 to 2 Saturday at McDonald’s at Vermilion and Liberty.
