Forty-five year old Anthony S. Austin of Georgetown has been arraigned on charges of two counts of Aggravated DUI resulting in the deaths of two or more people. Austin was arrested in connection with the October 2nd crash at Catlin-Indianola Road and County Road 550 in Indianola that resulted in the deaths of a father, mother, and 18-year-old daughter from Oxford, Indiana.
Fifty-two year old Lee Hall, 46 year old Felisha Hall, and 18 year old Madison Hall all lost their lives when their northbound Silverado was struck by a southbound GMC Sierra that drifted into the northbound lane.
Austin was present in a crowded courtroom in a wheelchair Friday morning, November 4th; with a not guilty plea entered on his behalf. His next court date for a pre-trial hearing is Tuesday, December 20th; at 9 AM.
While State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy acknowledged that Austin is not in adequate physical condition to be housed in the Vermilion County jail; requests have been granted that Austin post 10% of a $5o,000 bail, be restricted to home confinement except for medical or legal business, not enter any establishment where alcohol is served, not drink alcohol, and wear a GPS monitor on his ankle.
