Are you ready for the Christmas spirit right this very week? Gregory’s Academy will be presenting A Christmas Carol this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at First Presbyterian Church at 100 North Franklin Street. As Gregory Duckett explained to Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection, this has been part of them for a long time.
AUDIO: Actually the first time Gregory’s Academy did A Christmas Carol was in 1992, at the Delux Restaurant downtown, dinner theater style. And Bob was our Ebenezer Scrooge then. And in that particular production I played Bob Cratchit. We haven’t don’t it continually for 30 years, but we have done it for the past 30 years.
Gregory Duckett is playing a couple different roles this time. But Bob McIntire is indeed Ebenezer Scrooge. And as he explained, sometimes he’s in awe of the other actors.
AUDIO: I have to try to keep in character and not just be watching, when I see the people playing; like Marley’s ghost. That’s something that you can easily look and say “boy, what a fun part that is,” and forget that you’re supposed to be Ebenezer Scrooge reacting to him.
The November 10th through 12th shows are 7 PM this Thursday and Friday evening, and 2 PM this Saturday. Tickets are $20, $15 for students and seniors, and $10 for kids 12 and under.
