THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
House Fire, 3542 Ferndale
November 15th, 3:26am
Units were dispatched for a house on fire. Upon arrival, Firefighters reported heavy fire to the structure. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines to extinguish the fire. The 2 residents received minor smoke inhalation injuries and were transported to the hospital via Ambulance. One pet was lost in the fire. The house, and a vehicle, were considered a total loss at approximately $80,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No Firefighter injuries were reported.
Apartment Fire, 3535 N. Vermilion
November 14th, 5:32 PM
Units were dispatched for an apartment fire. Upon arrival Firefighters reported heavy smoke with blackened windows coming from a second story apartment. Firefighters immediately deployed an extension ladder to the second floor apartment, broke a window and entered the apartment via the window to extinguish the fire and conduct a search for victims. The fire was extinguished quickly and no victims were found inside. The occupant was located already outside. The apartment was heavily damaged but the rest of the complex had minimal damage. Occupants were moved to the main lobby for safety by DFD and DPD Officers until smoke was removed so they could return to their apartments. No injuries were reported. Damage estimated at approximately $30,000. The cause of the fire was determined accidental.
