THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
The Danville Fire Department had three officer vacancies filled by the Police and Fire Board at the meeting on December 13, 2022.
The first vacancy was created when Lieut. Jason Bilstad (26 Years of Service) retired from the Fire Department earlier this year.
The other vacancies were created with the Retirement of Fire Chief Don McMasters. When Chief McMasters retired from the department his vacancy created two additional officer vacancies after Captain Aaron Marcott was promoted to Fire Chief in late November of this year.
The three promoted individuals are:
William Ryan was promoted to Captain. Captain Ryan joined the Fire Department in 02/15/2006 (16 Years of Service). Captain Ryan will be assigned to 1st Battalion. As Captain, William Ryan will be assigned to Danville’s Ladder Truck.
Jason Hotsinpiller was promoted to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Hotsinpiller joined the Fire Department on 02/16/2005 (17 Years of Service). Lieutenant Hotsinpiller will be assigned to the third Battalion and will lead one of the City’s Engine Companies.
Lester Pottswas promoted to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Potts joined the Fire Department on06/07/2000 (22 Years of Service). Lieutenant Potts will be assigned to second Battalion and will lead one of the City’s Engine Companies. Swearing-In ceremonies will be held at a date and time to be determined by the Mayor.
