Police say they are searching for two suspects in an incident in which a 31-year-old Danville man was shot Sunday afternoon (November 3, 2019). Danville Police Commander Joshua Webb says the victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to a shoulder as he was walking in the area of the 1200 block of Sheridan Street.
The victim told police two men started yelling at him, and then he heard gunshots as he was struck in the shoulder. One of the suspects was described as a Black male with dreadlock style hair and a white t-shirt. The other was described as a Black male wearing a blue sweatshirt. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
Commander Webb says police first received a report of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived they found a 17-year-old Champaign juvenile who had suffered a broken leg. The youth told police he was walking in the area of the 1200 block of Sheridan Street when he heard gunshots and started running from the area. The youth fell while running and suffered a broken leg.
