No injuries were reported Thursday afternoon (November 7th, 2019) in a blaze which damaged a grain dryer at a Fairmount area farm. A half-dozen volunteer fire departments were called to assist in battling the blaze at C & R Ag Supply of rural Fairmount. The fire was on 250 East Road at Rohrscheib Farms.
Firefighters from the Homer, Fairmount, Fithian, Sidell, Catlin, Ogden-Royal, and St. Joseph Fire Departments assisted on the scene.
In addition to damaging a grain dryer, about 1200 bushels of corn were also lost.
