After the news over the weekend that Champaign Township Assessor Paul Faraci has been chosen as the late Scott Bennett’s replacement as State Senator of the 52nd District; news is also being made by the uncle of Scott Bennett, Republican Tom Bennett.
State Rep Tom Bennett of the 106th Illinois House District has been chosen to replace the retiring State Senator Jason Barickman in the Illinois Senate 53rd District. Barickman has announced that he is retiring, upon the start of his new term when the new state legislators are sworn in on Wednesday.
Possible replacements mentioned for Bennett in the 106th House District have included Jason Bunting from the Livingston County Board; and Susan Wynn Bence from the Iroquois County Board.
