Danville District 118 School Board members are scheduled to vote on new contract agreements Wednesday (December 11th) with custodial and food service personnel. Assistant Superintendent John Hart says that under the three year agreement the average employee pay hike would be 5-percent the first year and 4-percent during each of the second and third years. He says employees would pay slightly more for insurance.
The two unions have already approved the agreement which would run from July 1st of this year through June 30, 2022. It excludes kitchen managers. The board is expected to vote on a separate agreement for them offering a pay hike which would be in line with other staff members.
It was also announced Friday that the Danville Public School Foundation and School District have agreed to split the $250-thousand dollar cost for a new sound system. It will be installed in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium at Danville High School.
And Superintendent Alicia Geddis announced an Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 at the David Fields Administrative Service Center on East Williams Street. It is where the district’s main administrative offices are now located. That night (January 15th, 2020), the school board is scheduled to hold its first meeting at the Fields Building. The December 11th meeting of the Board of Education will be held at the Jackson Building where meetings have been occurring. It is expected to be the last meeting at that location.
