THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE RELEASE
DANVILLE — To highlight the diverse career opportunities in the STEM area of healthcare, Danville Area Community College will hold Health Professions Day on Friday, February 10, from 9 am to 11 am in the Mary Miller Center.
DACC’s Math, Science, and Health Professions division in conjunction with VVEDS willhostnearly 90 local high school students withhands-on career exploration activities featuring a career pathway in health professions. The sophomore students are coming from Oakwood, Westville, Georgetown-Ridge Farm, Hoopeston Area, Salt Fork, Milford, Armstrong Township, and Danville high schools.
Health Professions Day will feature DACC faculty offering 9-minute hands-on workshops healthcare career paths. Career paths featured will include medical assistant, certified nurse assistant (CNA), nursing, health information technology, radiology, sonography, and echocardiography.
Local EMS professionals will also have an Ambulance/EMT display outside the Mary Miller Building. Additionally, students will be treated to a demonstration of the Anatomage Table, a virtual dissection tool used in Anatomy and Physiology courses.
