This Friday evening (March 3rd), starting at 6:30 PM at the Fischer Theater, Danville’s FIRST FRIDAYS events return with another DANVILLE’S GOT TALENT. As Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer recently Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection, the auditions brought so much quality talent, they even added a couple spots.
AUDIO: All of our audition spots were full, we had to turn people away. Incredible talent. We ended up; we said we were going to pick between ten and 12. We ended up picking 13 performers because there were just so many we could not say no to. Saying no is hard, people so many of the people we turned away were talented as well.
Greer says there will be a great variety at this Danville’s Got Talent, especially when it comes to how people use their voices.
AUDIO: We have some people doing acapella, we have some people singing in multiple languages; so like a cultural performance. We have a duet, a couple of guys on guitars; we’re really excited about them. But then something really unique is we have two people performing spoken word. Which, I don’t know if you’ve ever witnessed spoken work, but it can be incredibly moving.
Once again that’s the First Friday’s DANVILLE’S GOT TALENT, 6:30 PM at the Fischer this Friday (March 3rd) evening. Remember it’s $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second, and $500 for third.
