Money Management & Employment Workshops
Danville, IL (Feb 27, 2023) – The Salvation Army of Vermilion County & Project Success, with the help of local partners, have joined forces to help bring educational resources to those whose economic position can be elevated, and lives enriched, including money management and employment assistance workshops.
The Salvation Army & Project Success will host the first of two workshops, Money Management, at Central Christian Church on Tuesday, March 7th, at 5pm. This workshop is sponsored by First Savings Bank of Danville & Iroquois Federal. Presenters will Include Emily Duncan and Jason Whaling on the topics of ‘Understanding Credit’, ‘Budgeting 101’, and ‘Home-Buying how-to’s’. This event is free and open to anyone who wishes to gain helpful information towards a building a better financial future.
The Salvation Army’s Melissa Wilhelm offered some insight to this workship.
AUDIO: So we’re super excited to bring this to the community. The purpose of this workshop is to really enable and educate folks that want to better their financial future. (This could be) by way of understanding their credit score; and ideas about how to prepare themselves to buy their first home here in Vermilion County, things they could be aware of to prepare for that. Or who to connect with in order to kind of move that forward, to get out of a rental situation and into their own home.

The Salvation Army & Project Success will host an Employment workshop at Central Christian Church on Tuesday, April 11th at 5pm. More information an details to follow.
