The Danville Symphony Orchestra is ready to roll with their third show of the season, 7:30 Saturday night (March 11th) at the Fischer Theater. Maestro Jeremy Swerling, in his final season as Danville Symphony Orchestra Conductor, recently joined Tommy B on D102’s The Big Show. The Maestro explained that each season the Danville Symphony Orchestra likes to feature a pops concert, a Christmas concert, a classical concert, and a crossover concert. He says this is the classical concert, with two wonderful pieces scheduled.
AUDIO: One is the Barber Violin Concerto, with a phenomenal violinist called Luke Hsu. He’s an award winning, prize winning violinist; plays all over the world. And the famous piece by Mussorgsky, Pictures At an Exhibition; which is a piece of music that was written to present a musical picture of actual paintings that the composer was viewing at the time.
Tickets are available at the door or atthefischer.com.
Maestro Swerling’s final season will wrap up on May 6th, with the crossover concert; as baritone Robert Sims will be singing music from Broadway.
