Although Danville High School was placed under a ‘soft lock-down’ this (Friday) morning, there was no threat to anyone.
Associate Danville School Superintendent Elizabeth Yacobi described the soft lock-down as ‘’routine’’ and noted it is something they do once a year.
Danville Police K-9 dogs were brought in to search a section of the building looking for possible contraband. There was no immediate word on whether anything was found.
Dr. Yacobi says they randomly select a floor and then bring in the dogs for the search. She added it is a routine part of the District’s safety efforts. Students remain in classrooms during the search and no one is allowed to enter or leave the building.
