The Illinois Gaming Board has announced it has postponed a meeting which had been scheduled for Thursday (March 12, 2020).
The monthly meeting had been scheduled to occur in Chicago. Some local leaders had hoped that the board would act on approving a gaming permit during the session for Danville’s casino.
Haven Gaming earlier proposed a 53,500 square foot pre-engineered casino gambling floor in Danville that would form the core of the permanent casino and resort. It is proposed to be built along the south side of Interstate 74 at Lynch Road. Also included in phase one are a 200 seat buffet and trendy ‘Chicago style deli’, plus 1,100 spaces of surface parking. Construction of phase one is expected to take 9 to 18 months to complete.
Other improvements Haven Gaming plans to bring to Danville include a 150 room luxury boutique hotel, including fifteen suites – a 5,300 square foot sports betting arena, and a 15-thousand square foot convention center along with a corridor of celebrity restaurants and 1500 seat entertainment venue.
Again…the Illinois Gaming Board has postponed the meeting it had scheduled in Chicago Thursday.
