The Danville Area Planning and Zoning Commission will consider four petitions when it meets on March 5th. And one of them has Aqua Illinois Water Company and Sol Systems returning requesting a special use permit for the erection of a large ground solar system. It would be located next to Aqua’s water treatment plant in the 1300 block of West Fairchild Street.
Other petitions to be considered include:
- A request for a special use permit for Green Growth Group, Inc. It would be used for a medicinal/adult use cannabis cultivation center at 202-204 Eastgate Drive.
- A request for a special use permit that would allow a bar or tavern at 127 North Walnut in Danville. Garrett and Heather Pierce are the petitioners.
- Another request seeks a special use permit to allow the opening of a retail gun shop/specialty goods store at 3803 North Vermilion Street. The petitioner is Gregory Hoover.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is an advisory body only. It will be up to the Danville City Council to decide whether the special use permits should be approved. The Commission meets at 5:15 p.m. on March 5th at the Robert E. Jones Municipal Building at 17 West Main Street.
