News story here.
ABOVE: Children of all ages and their families hit the Kresge Park grounds at precisely 6 PM Friday for the beginning of the First Fridays Hop Danville Easter Egg Hunt
Last year’s First Fridays Easter event at the Danville Public Library and in Downtown Danville was a major success. This year’s, Hop Downtown, was even bigger; and it would be fair to call it one of the most amazing First Fridays events ever. From 5 to 8 PM Friday, April 7th; children and families gathered outside the Danville Public Library for another evening of the petting zoo and free pony rides.

Children and families enjoyed the petting zoo and free pony rides at the Danville Public Library.
Activities stretched from there all the way through Downtown to the Danville Gardens Pansy Potting Station at Temple Plaza, and then down to Kresge Park; where the bigger and better Easter Egg Hunt was ready to go at 6 PM. And people were lined up at least five deep all around well before 6. We had a chance to talk with Brittney from Catlin, who was there with her little one Damian; her family’s first time back in a couple years.
AUDIO: (This is a mob scene, what do think of all this here?) It is, there’s a lot of people out. Everybody having a good time, the sun is out; does this feel like Easter to you?) It does, yes. (Did you come to this last year by any chance?) Not last year, no; a couple of years ago. I have a daughter that’s 15, so we’re been coming to these for many years. (Do you think they’re making improvements?) We’re going to find out!

And find out they did when 6 o’clock arrived and the Kresge Park grounds were waiting with four times the eggs compared to last year. Toni Towne of Danville was there watching her granddaughter.
AUDIO: (Have you ever seen this many people here? This thing seems to be getting bigger.) I think it’s great. No, I haven’t seen this many people. And they’re all happy, and we’re all having a good time.
