Voters in Vermilion County, outside of the Danville city limits, have been mailed new Voter Identification Cards. On some of these cards, you will notice your card indicates a polling place change. This obviously indicates that your polling place has been relocated.
While voter convenience is a priority, the county is always looking for ways to streamline processes while remaining ADA compliant with State laws and regulations, says Lindsay Light, Supervisor of Elections for Vermilion County Clerk Cathy Jenkins office. You can vote by mail or early vote to avoid the wait or inconvenience. Early Voting takes place at the annex about 6 weeks before Election Day. You do not need a reason to come vote early – you can simply because you want to. You can also vote by mail. You can either call the office or get on our website at www.vercounty.org to request a ballot be sent to your home. Once the signed application is returned to our office, your ballot is sent to you.
If you have any questions about early voting or are interested in vote by mail, please contact Lindsay Light, Chief Deputy County Clerk/Supervisor of Elections at 217/554- 1911.
