An all day Career Expo is set for the David S. Palmer Arena on Friday, April 28th. Vermilion Advantage Chamber Director Nicole Van Hyfte and DACC Business and Technology Division Dean Terri Cummings recently joined Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection program. As Hyfte explained, about 70 vendors are already signed up; from local businesses, to educators, to non-profits. Anyone can attend, and student groups from Eastern Illinois and Western Indiana have been invited. And remember, dress well; because someone just might say, “Let’s do an interview!”

AUDIO: So, if you are curious at all about what’s going or in Danville or in Vermilion County, not just if you’re a job seeker, this is the place to come and see all. We have some space for interviewing on the spot. If any of our employers feel like they have a candidate that they would just really like to interview, we’ve got a space for that.
Terri Cummings says, this can be very educational for students.
AUDIO: I’ve been working with our Career Services here on campus. We put together some information that can be provided to the students about what to expect, how to work a career fair, how does that work, what things should you do to prepare. You know, once they try that as high school students, it makes it a little bit easier once they have to do it maybe later on in life.
The hours for the Career Expo at the Palmer Arena Friday, April 28th are 9 AM to 5 PM. To hear Laura Williams entire interview with Nicole and Terri; please go to https://vermilioncountyfirst.com/the-community-connection/
