THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION VOLES RELEASE
The Vermilion Voles Vintage Base Ball Club will open its 2023 season with a match at Kennekuk County Park on Saturday, May 6 at 1:00PM. The Voles will be playing host to the newest vintage base ball club in the region, the Champaign Clippers.
The Voles club is entering its 20th season. Team members play ball as documented in 1858. Clubs play with replica bats, balls, and uniforms of that era. The rules and customs of 1858 include bound outs and barehanded play.
The Voles’ home field is located along the Kennekuk County Park main road across from the Ironwood Springs Lake Mingo Boat Access parking area.
New this season, the Voles club is partnering with Motley Food. The popular food truck operation will be on hand with concessions throughout the
day.
Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Parking is available at the ball field site.
