Danville Police, with assistance from U.S. Marshal’s, have arrested a suspect in a weekend shooting. Deontae Franklin was arrested in the 1200 block of Clarence Street Monday morning in connection with the shooting of a 43-year-old Danville man.
The victim was found early Saturday when police responded to a report of a shooting in that same area of Clarence Street. Police Commander Josh Webb says the victim had been shot in the torso, and is expected to survive.
Danville Police had been working with the United State’s Marshal’s Task Force in the case. Franklin was taken to the Public Safety Building where he is being held on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, unlawful use of weapons by a felon, and having no valid firearm owner’s identification card. His bond is set at $250-thousand dollars.
