Crews are busy near the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville bringing some road and safety improvements to that area. The Danville City Council last month awarded a $900-thousand dollar contract to Feutz Contractors of Paris for improvements along South Street from Main to Jackson Street.
Mayor Scott Eisenhauer says the work will improve pedestrian safety in front of the Palmer Arena. The project involves reducing the number of lanes for traffic and having an area where motorists can drop-off or pick-up those using the Arena without blocking traffic. There will also be improvements to lighting in that area.
