(ABOVE) While Seven Point of Illinois out of Oak Park, IL has already received clearance from the Danville City Council to build a cannabis dispensary on the west side of Lynch Road at 380 Eastgate Drive; Mariworks LLC out of Chicago has applied for a permit to build one closer to I-74 on the west side of Lynch Road; at 500 Eastgate Drive, just south of Danville Metal Stamping.
Danville Community Development Administrator Logan Cronk has confirmed that a fourth party in the past two years is now interested in bringing a cannabis dispensary to Danville.
The first, Sunnyside Cannabis Dispensary, is currently operating on the east side of Lynch Road, at 369 Lynch Drive.
The second, Seven Point of Illinois, is approved for 380 Eastgate Drive on the west side of Lynch Road; and has been hoping to break ground in the near future.
The third, Parkway Dispensaries out of Chicago, was voted down by the Danville City Council on January 17th, after having received unanimous recommendation from the Danville Planning and Zoning Commission. Their Danville location would have been north of Sunnyside, along an extension of Lynch Drive. Parkway has since begun building along Georgetown Road in Tilton, with plans for both a dispensary and growth center.
The latest applicant is Mariworks, LLC; with their headquarters located on West Grand Avenue in Chicago. Their plan is to build south of where Seven Point would be, also on the West Side of Lynch Road, but closer to I-74; just south of Danville Metal Stamping.

After being turned down for a Danville location off of an extension of Lynch Drive (first picture), Parkway Dispensaries broke ground in Tilton in March (second picture) in front of True Grit Fitness on Georgetown Road.
Logan Cronk says, yes; there is lots of interest along Danville’s Lynch Road these days, certainly including this type of business.
AUDIO: Since the current redevelopment on the Lynch Road corridor, we’ve picked up a lot of momentum, commercially, along that corridor; cannabis dispensaries being one of them. As the public knows, this will be the fourth petition; in I would say the last two years.
And with the petition having been filed, the Danville Planning and Zoning Commission needs to allow Mariworks, LLC to make their presentation; which they are scheduled to do during the commission’s 5:15 meeting on Thursday, June 1st. A vote of recommendation from the commission would mean a simple majority of approval is needed from the Danville City Council. Without a recommendation, a supermajority vote would be needed from the Danville Council.
Seven Point of Illinois CEO Brad Zerman says he will have some feedback for the City of Danville. Neuhoff Media will be hearing more from him, later this week.
