THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION ADVANTAGE/LEADERSHIP TOMORROW RELEASE
Vermilion Advantage’s Leadership Tomorrow Class 34 is kicking off this week with a day and a half retreat. This year, the new mentor program will continue in which area leaders are partnered with the students to help them on their journey.
On Thursday, May 25, the mentors and students will meet at the Fischer Theatre to learn the details and participate in team building activities. Then, Friday, May 26, you may see them running around the county or on social media as the mentors and students pair up and run the “Amazing Race Vermilion County” stopping places throughout Vermilion County from Hoopeston to Georgetown, ending at Big Thorn Farm and Brewery.
The public is invited to come celebrate the class at the finish line between 3-4pm. Thank you to the Host sponsor, Witzel Family McDonalds, and to Commercial Break sponsors, Turtle Run, Wolf Creek, Vermilion Voles, Greenwood Inc., Fischer Theatre, and Iroquois Federal. Class 34 is being facilitated by Annie Monyok, owner/operator of Monyok Leadership and supported by Nicole Van Hyfte, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Vermilion Advantage.
The class will meet once a month from June through November and will dig deeper into Vermilion County and how to be a local leader. The 24 students are required to do 80 hours of volunteering during that time and spend at least 12 hours with their mentor.
If you would like more information about future classes, or if you have a volunteer opportunity, please contact Nicole Van Hyfte at 217-442-6201 or nvanhyfte@vermilionadvantage.com.
