Danville, May 31, 2023 – Friday is June’s First Fridays Event – Sports & Brews from 5-8 PM in Downtown Danville! This event features many activities for the whole family including live music, food trucks, kids’ corner, and many sporting activities! Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer says there are some additions this year, including one very big one.
AUDIO: We’re bringing in a mechanical bull to Downtown. It will be at Palace Park, outside the Fischer Theater. And we will be having mechanical bull rides, which is a super fun thing.
Greer said there are other new attractions as well.
AUDIO: The Danville Area Soccer Association will be at Kresge Park, with drills and different soccer activities. And then we also have Respond Gaming Lounge bringing their gaming trailer downtown, because video gaming is a sport too.
Because of this event, road closures will occur starting at 2 PM and ending at 8:30 PM. Vermilion Street will be barricaded from Harrison Street to Main Street and North Street will be barricaded on either side of Vermilion Street to the closest alleys.

| Join us in Downtown Danville on June 2 from 5-8 PM as we host the second annual Sports & Brews event! This event features live music from Ferranti and Bay City Central on the Temple Plaza stage, a beer tent by Vermilion River Beer Company, beer specials at local establishments, several food trucks, sports-themed concessions, and two whole blocks of outdoor fun and games. In addition, we will be launching a line of First Fridays SWAG at this event, available for purchase for the first time ever at the event.
