United Steelworkers at some Danville area industries are coming to the aid of hurricane victims. Dale Ghibaudy, President of Local 972 of the United Steelworkers at Bunge Milling, says a water drive is going to be held Saturday, September 9th.
Members of the Steelworker’s union from Bunge Milling, Lebanon Seaboard System, KIK Custom Products, and Arconic – formerly Alcoa – will be collecting water and cash donations. The donations will be accepted Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Tilton Big R Store on Illinois route one.
Ghibaudy says money that is collected will be used to purchase more water for the hurricane victims. Anyone can stop by the Big R Store on Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to donate.
In addition to Local 972 at Bunge Milling, the other locals participating are Local 975 of the United Steelworkers at Lebanon Seaboard and United Steelworkers Local 201B at KIK and Arconic.
