The Vermilion River Fall Festival and Farmers Market is getting underway Friday (September 15th) at Danville’s Ellsworth Park. And it appears that the weather will cooperate with sunshine and warm temperatures this weekend.
Cindy Parson is the Superintendent of the Danville Recreation Department and described the festival on Thursday. ‘’Well, it’s just a good time. It’s a free event. Everybody can come down. We have arts and crafts for sale, we have food items for sale, we’ll have band entertainment all weekend,’’ said Parson. She added there will also be a car show. ‘’There’s something for everyone and there’s a lot of kid activities going on also.’’
Some huge tents are set-up at Ellsworth Park, and Parson says vendors will be offering a variety of items for sale. ‘’A lot of seasonal items and outdoor decorations….we have someone who has stained glass, a lot of sewing, jewelry, knitting, blankets – just a little bit of everything.’’ (This photo shows just a few of the tents set-up at Ellsworth Park.)
And Parson says those vendors come from a wide area. ‘’We have some folks that come from the Champaign area. They come from Indiana. And we also have a lot of locals this year.’’
Hours for the Vermilion River Fall Festival and Farmers Market are from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, and from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
