Danville Police are continuing their probe of two weekend shooting incidents. In one of them, Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says a man was shot in the neck in an incident that occurred during the pre-dawn hours on Sunday (September 24th, 2017). The shooting occurred in the unit block of South State Street, and the victim remained hospitalized last night.
The other shooting occurred in the area of Seminary and Jackson Streets shortly after 3:00 a.m. Saturday (September 23rd). Five people were wounded by an unidentified gunman. Three of the victims were females and the other two males. Police say none of them suffered life-threatening injuries. Danville Police Commander Joshua Webb says based on witness statements there was a party going on in the area of Seminary and Jackson Streets when the shots rang out.
