Representatives from Vermilion Advantage were honored at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce national meeting in Washington, D.C. for their efforts.
Vermilion Advantage Workforce Development Consultant Kim Kuchenbrod notes one of seven workforce pilot programs started locally in 2014. Vermilion County became the pioneers of the process that has since seen over 60 communities nationwide attempt to replicate the process according to Kuchenbrod. And Kuchenbrod adds it’s exciting seeing the local blueprint helping communities in Texas, California, Arizona, Vermont and other states.
Kuchenbrod says the next step is to organize statewide initiatives to train the trainers to help spread the workforce initiative into additional areas.
