First Degree Murder charges have been filed in connection with the death of a Paris (Illinois) man. The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation says 26-year-old Tyler D. Poole was charged Monday with First Degree Murder. The charges stem from the death of 59-year-old Charles K. Nay of Paris.
According to State Police, officers from the Paris Police Department were notified that a battery had occurred in front of a residence in the 300 block of Main Street on Thursday, July 20th. The victim, Charles Nay, was transported to a local hospital and later to a regional hospital where he died on Saturday. Paris Police requested assistance from the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation.
Poole was being held Monday on a $500,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing which is set for August 7th.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
