After some hard work by volunteers, Danville’s David S. Palmer Arena is ready to welcome visitors to this year’s Festival of Trees. The event, sponsored by Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, opens at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (November 11, 2017) and runs through Wednesday afternoon.
Palmer Arena General Manager Peter Blackmon says it is one of the Arena’s key events…
And Blackmon notes oftentimes it is difficult to keep annual events going…
‘’It’s a testament to doing things right, and for all the right reasons,’’ added Blackmon.
The Festival of Trees features beautifully decorated trees and wreaths, and a Junior Parade of Trees (part of which is shown here) from area schools. And there are numerous special activities throughout the event ranging from an Ugly Sweater Party and Wine and Painting Party, to a Star Wars Adventure Lunch and The Polar Express.
