Vermilion County Board Chairman Mike Marron says he expects the first offices will be moving out of the courthouse annex in early 2018. He says before any offices can move to the former federal court building, though, there is work to complete…
Marron thinks acquiring the federal building will resolve county space needs for decades to come…
As he looked back on 2017 during an interview with VermilionCountyFirst.com News, Marron was asked what is going to happen with the Annex, since offices there will be moving out…
The Danville Board of Election Commission and Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency will be moving to the basement of the Vermilion County Service Center (formerly known as the federal courthouse). Marron says the first floor is where offices will be located which the public uses the most – County Clerk, Recorder of Deeds and Treasurer. The second floor of the former federal courthouse will house the County Auditor, County Board office and County Board meeting room. The Supervisor of Assessments and Congressman John Shimkus will have offices on the third floor, along with possibly Senator Scott Bennett. Marron notes the basement – where the Danville Board of Election Commission and Vermilion County EMA office will be located – is handicapped accessible.
