We are just a couple days away from a very busy two days at Danville High School. Spaces remain available for the Rising Tide Mental Health Conference happening this coming weekend; Friday, October 6th and Saturday, October 7th; in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium. The 708 Mental Health Board is joining forces with Gateway Family Services of Illinois and the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation to bring this conference back to the area. There will be co-host sites around the world, and a previous conference was held in 2021.
Michael Remole of Gateway Family Services says there will be numerous experts there to speak with not only professionals in mental health care, but to all residents who would like some help in approaching life’s challenges. And a major topic will definitely be dealing with stress, especially coming out of the COVID pandemic of a few years back and the new challenges that came about.

AUDIO: We all face high pressure situations. Do we manage it well? Do our kids manage it well? Whether that’s academics, sports, or performing on the stage; you know, that’s a lot of stress. Are doing well with it? Are we developing healthy coping skills.
And once we again we will mention that the final session 4:30 to 6:30 Saturday in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium will be 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series MVP Ben Zobrist. Yes, tickets for that session alone are still available at $20 per person, and are scheduled to be available at the door. But as Remole again reminds us, it’s a good idea to take care of that ahead of time.
AUDIO: We’re encouraging people to get those in advance. You can get those at risingtideconference.com. We want to make sure that we are prepared for all those who want to join us.
You can also go to risingtideconference.com for tickets to the entire two day conference for $199. Both mental health professionals and area residents wanting to learn more about how to cope are welcome; as 20 breakout presentations and six keynote presenters are scheduled.
