Watchfire Signs of Danville has been selected to completely rebuild the canopy that is part of the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas.
Watchfire beat out 14 other digital screen manufacturers from around the world for the project. The $30 million project will be completed during 2019.
The project is to construct a screen up to seven times brighter and four times sharper than the original, making it more eye-catching even during daylight hours. Currently, the popular site cannot display during the day. Watchfire has developed a new product specifically for this project, a fabric-like module that can be trimmed and shaped without impact on the display information.
The project will entail 130,000 square feet of digital signage, about two times the area of the White House, more than 16 million pixels and 49 million LEDs and 64 thousand custom-designed modules.
The Fremont Street Experience is adjacent to 10 Las Vegas Casinos and several dozen restaurants and draws more than 20 million visitors annually.
Installation will begin in early 2019 and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
