An employee of the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s office has been placed on unpaid administrative leave as the target of an investigation by the FBI and the Illinois State Police.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy, in a release yesterday, stated that information brought to her Monday during a State Police investigation led to her contacting the United States Attorney’s Office.
The release says the all cases involving the targeted employee will be reviewed to ensure all proper procedures and laws were followed.
The investigation is being conducted by the Illinois State Police and the FBI. As it is an open investigation, no further information has been released, including the name of the targeted individual.
