Vermilion Advantage interim executive director Todd Lee says the news that Bose Corp in Danville will be closing soon due to supply chain adjustment issues is certainly bad news for the 16 employees currently working there. But Lee also says the good news for them is that they have been holding skilled manufacturing jobs. And therefore, the skills they have will be needed.
AUDIO: I believe we’ve got a number of companies in our community that are looking for the type of employees that the Bose employees are. And they’re going to be very well received by our manufacturing base here in the community.
Bose is known for headphones and speaker systems, and had been manufacturing car stereo coils at their 300 Eastgate Drive location. Lee stated he had plans to meet with Bose to talk about assistance for the workers in finding new employment, and specifics on the last day of operations.
