With the announcement this week that State Rep Mike Marron will become the new President/CEO at Vermilion Advantage; Marron has told Neuhoff Media that he knew the position had been posted after Tim Dudley stepped down. And it was a conversation with Vermilion Advantage’s interim President/CEO that really got him thinking.
AUDIO: Todd Lee and I had had a meeting about some legislative items and things I could help Vermilion Advantage with. We had a conversation about applying for job, so I decided to submit my resume; and that’s what happened.
As of Monday, December 18th; Marron will be stepping down from representing the 104th District in the Illinois House; and officially taking over as the leader of Vermilion Advantage. Marron says it will simply be serving the people of Vermilion County in a new way.
AUDIO: It’s a great opportunity to try to help the community, and help bring some needed change and jobs to the area; and something I’m very excited about. You know, it was a great honor to serve in the legislature and represent the people of Vermilion and Champaign Counties in Springfield, but I think my time in politics is over with. And I’m looking forward to the next chapter.
As far as who will fill the 104th District legislative seat for the rest of the current term, Marron says the Republican chairs for Vermilion and Champaign Counties will be meeting soon to consider possible candidates.
