December 13: A Novel Idea at 7:00 p.m. at the Fischer Theatre. This month’s movie is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966). The short film will be followed by a couple of other Christmas Classics! Tickets are $5 but you can go for FREE by visiting the Danville Public Library – visit today! All proceeds are used to fund the growing programming of the Historic Fischer Theatre and the continued restoration of our historic landmark. Doors open and Concessions and Bar available an hour before, at 6:00pm.

December 11: Genealogy Workshop: Busting Brick Walls. Do you have a Brick Wall or dead end in your genealogy research? Bring your information to this workshop and we will try to help you! 1-2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
December 11: Teen Movie Mondays. Every Monday we will show a movie in Teen Zone and have popcorn! Teens can suggest and vote on which movie we watch. 4 – 6 PM.
December 12: Teen Tabletop Tuesdays. Stop by the Teen Zone on Tuesdays to play board/card games and eat snacks! Tuesdays from 4-6PM in the Teen Zone.
December 12: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Break a record. Choose a Guinness World Record and try to break it. 4:30 PM in the Children’s Room. Ages 8-12.
December 12: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under. Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
December 13: Dungeons & Dragons. A tabletop role-playing game that allows teens to quest for treasures and fame, or at the very least hunt enemies. This program is for teens, both those who are new to the game and those who already know the best way to cleave an orc. New players always welcome! Wednesdays at 4:00 PM in the Teen Zone.
December 13: Rainbow Readers Playgroup. Socialization, play and STEAM activities for toddlers. 10 AM- 11 AM. 1st Floor Meeting Room.
December 14: Anything Tech for Teens.Introducing teens to some of the library’s cool technology, including 3D Printing, 3D Pens, Sphero Balls, Cricut, and a Flight Simulator. Thursdays at 4:00 PM in the Teen Zone.
December 14: Tween 3D Printer Class. Get your tech on while you learn about 3D printing. Use software to create your own 3D masterpiece! For ages 8-12. 4:30 p.m.
December 16: Santa Story Time. Santa is flying in to spread Christmas cheer and read stories for all to hear! Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and get your picture with Santa before he returns to the North Pole! 12 PM in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
December 16: Goosebumps Parent/Child Book Club. Parents, share your Goosebumps nostalgia with your kids in our Parent-Child Book Club series! This month, we’re featuring The Haunted Mask by R.L. Stine. We’ll have activities and games, and you’ll get a free copy of the book to take home. 1 PM in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
StoryWalk®: Enjoy a quiet walk and read a book! Pete the Cat Saves Christmas by Eric Litwin on our back (South) windows. (The side facing Madison St.)
Teen Craft: For the month of December, the teen craft will be to make ornaments to decorate our Teen Zone Christmas Tree, or your own tree at home! Stop by anytime during the month of December to make one. 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily in the Teen Zone.
Weekly Crafts. Drop by for fun crafts in the children’s department. Available Monday through Thursday starting at 9am-6:30pm and Fri-Sat 9am-2:30pm. New craft each week! This week: Make a candy cane craft.
Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture, win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified.
