THE FOLLOWING RELEASE IS FROM STATE TREASURER MICHAEL FRERICHS’ OFFICE
SPRINGFIELD – Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs congratulates Rep. Mike Marron, R-Fithian, on concluding his tenure in the Illinois House of Representatives and wishes him well in his new career as president and CEO of Vermilion Advantage.
“I have enjoyed working with Representative Marron during his time in the General Assembly, as I did with Representatives Black and Hays before him. Like them, he tried to be a problem solver,” said Frerichs, who served in the state Senate before becoming State Treasurer. “I’m proud that he and I have been able to work together to return more than $1.3 million in missing money to residents of his district through the I‑CASH program that my office manages.”

Representative Marron is an assistant Republican leader in the Illinois House, where he has served since September 2018. He has announced he will resign from the House in mid-December to begin his new role with Vermilion Advantage.
About the Illinois Treasurer
The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office is a powerful economic engine that invests in people to drive prosperity, development and growth throughout the state. As State Treasurer, Michael Frerichs (FRAIR’iks) is the state’s Chief Investment and Banking Officer and actively manages approximately $55 billion. The investments help families pay for college and trade school; workers save for a dignified retirement; and local governments process bill payments more efficiently so they can pass along the savings to taxpayers. The office provides financial institutions money to loan to farmers, small business owners, and qualified individuals at below-market rates because better jobs create stronger communities. The office operates the state’s largest consumer-protection initiative, the missing money I-Cash program, which has returned a record-breaking $1.8 billion since Frerichs was elected.
