Monday (Dec 18th) was Mike Marron’s first day as President and CEO of Vermilion Advantage. Vermilion Advantage Chamber Director Nicole Van Hyfte said at the end of the day that the former state rep will definitely be an asset to Vermilion Advantage’s mission for the retention, expansion, and recruitment of Vermilion County business.
AUDIO: It’s a great day at Vermilion Advantage to have Mike Marron come in and take over the lead as new CEO and president. He, I think, is just going to be such a wonderful advocate for Vermilion County. His attitude, his knowledge; we’re really excited to have him. And we’re really excited to do what 2024 is going to bring.
Marron said that while he didn’t have any first day surprises to announce, he certainly intends to have some down the road.
AUDIO: I’ve been running around all day long, it feels like, but that’s good. We’ve got a lot of projects going, and it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be exciting, and we’re looking forward to getting a lot done. We’re going to work hard, and hopefully we’ll have some pleasant surprises coming up here before long. If we’re doing our job properly, we’ll have some good things to announce.
Marron had already announced he was not running for another term before stepping down as 104th District State Rep. He replaces the recently departed Tim Dudley as Vermilion Advantage leader, with former President and CEO Todd Lee having served as interim leader prior to Marron’s hiring.
