An investigation continues into the cause of a fire which heavily damaged a house at 1610 Cleveland Street late Friday night. Danville firefighters say fire and smoke was coming from around the chimney and a back wall was engulfed in flames when they arrived shortly before 10:30 p.m.
The house was occupied when the fire erupted but everyone got out safely. And there were no injuries to firefighters who were on the scene for two hours.
Preliminary damage estimates are placed at $30-thousand dollars.

Firefighters responded to the other fire at 812 West Williams Street shortly before noon Saturday. They found heavy smoke coming from the back of the home when they arrived. There were no injuries, but preliminary damage estimates were placed at $37-thousand dollars in that blaze. No one was home when the fire erupted according to fire officials.
