Danville Police are continuing to seek information as they attempt to learn who killed a 42-year-old city man Friday night (October 26th). Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden identified the victim on Sunday as Allan Bryant of Danville. The Coroner said an autopsy was conducted Saturday and results of the autopsy are pending.
Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says officers were dispatched to the 100 block of North State Street at about 9 o’clock Friday night when residents of the area reported hearing gunshots.
‘’Officers arriving found a 42-year-old Danville man lying on the ground,’’ said Thomason. He added the man had what appeared to be a gunshot to the upper portion of his body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Director Thomason adds the incident is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone who has information that might help solve this case is asked to call Danville Police at 431-2250, or Vermilion County Crime Stoppers at 446-TIPS to leave information anonymously. Crime Stoppers offers rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons wanted for serious crimes in Vermilion County.
