The ‘Great American Smoke-Out’ was observed Thursday….and in Danville the V.A. Illiana Health Care System was helping veterans who are trying to quit smoking. Stephanie Holt, a psychologist at the medical center, was manning a display table passing out information about smoking….
Holt notes that a person who smokes a pack of cigarettes a day in Illinois is spending $27-thousand dollars to buy them over ten years.
As she encourages people to quit smoking, Holt tells them to spend that money on something else….
The VA also offers various resources to help Veterans kick the habit.
