SUGAR COOKIES:
1 Cup Oleo
1 Cup Oil
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
1 Tsp. Soda
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Vanilla
4 Cups Flour
Mix together everything but the flower. After it is well mixed, add the flour and mix for a few minutes.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. When they start to brown around the edges, they are done.
ICING:
2 lbs. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup water
1 cup Crisco
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Mix together well. If icing is too thick to spread easily, add a few mire drops of water. Ice cookies several hours before you want to use them. The icing will set up then and you can put them on top of each other to store.
these cookies freeze very well. Do not put icing on them if you are going to freeze them. The icing can be stored on the refrigerator for at least a week.
