The Westville Unit 2 School District celebrated the 50th anniversary of Judith Giacoma Elementary School Tuesday (December 4, 2018). Superintendent Seth Miller says there have been some changes at the building over the years…
The school district provided students with special shirts to wear for the celebration. And students also prepared items for a time capsule to be opened in 50 years. Some of the items in the time capsule include a copy of the Scholastic News Weekly Reader, a Vermilion County Conservation District workbook, instructions on how to make slime, a sealed message and a calendar showing this month’s lunch schedule.
Westville – like other districts – has had to deal with a nationwide shortage of teachers and Miller explained how they do it….
Four Westville teachers who retired earlier are back teaching at Judith Giacoma. Also Tuesday the District held a holiday lunch for senior citizens at Westville High School.
