State Representative Mike Marron says he has been getting some good input from local leaders on what they would like to see in a new capital bill. Marron met with Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. and also with a group of other Vermilion County mayors to discuss their needs….
Marron says it remains to be seen whether a new capital bill will develop.
Meeting with the mayors, Representative Marron heard there are a lot of needs around the county….
Marron says some sort of income is going to be needed to pay for those items, but he adds the gasoline tax hike of 25 to 30 cents a gallon requested by Chicago’s mayor is too high. And since the Chicago mayor also wants a new casino, Marron was asked whether he thinks Danville still has a chance of getting a casino….
And Marron adds he is looking forward to returning to Springfield next month.
