Through providing accurate labor market information, offering educational opportunities in high-demand occupations, and providing support for those looking for work, we strive to help job seekers achieve their career goals. VCW assists these individuals in shaping their futures by improving existing skills or re-training for new careers. Trained professionals help participants establish career goals by matching individual interests and abilities to occupations in demand.
The American Job Center (AJC) provides free help to job seekers for a variety of career and employment-related needs.
The AJC offers free access to a resource room which includes computers with internet, telephones, and fax machines. These rooms are open to the public on a self-service basis. Staff are available to assist job seekers with building a resume, general career exploration, and job search. The AJC also offers recruiting events, workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search activities.
Danville Public Library - Executive Director Opening
The role of Executive Director is primarily focused on establishing and stewarding donor relationships, oversight of capital campaigns, and cultivating a robust financial portfolio for the long-term benefit of the Danville Public Library. An exceptional candidate for this position will have proficiency in fundraising, financial management, a willingness to foster personal relationships with donors, and excellent communication skills. This role is largely self-directed, so comfortability with independent work is preferred.
