Some arrests highlighted weekend activities for local and area police agencies. Members of the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested three suspects Saturday on charges of possession of controlled substances. Their names are being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
Danville Police arrested a 26-year-old man at a bar at 853 E. Fairchild Street Saturday night on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Danville Police also arrested a 34-year-old Hoopeston man in the 1100 block of North Jackson Street early Sunday on preliminary charges of aggravated battery and unlawful use of weapons.
A 22-year-old Danville man is facing charges of theft over $10,000 after police located a vehicle in Danville which had been reported stolen in Hoopeston.
Danville Police also arrested two men on Friday on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm.
